Jane Austen Fanfiction by Gaby A.

Some of my favorite Pride and Prejudice fanfictions over the years are those written by Gaby A. Her stories are always creative, show in depth interactions between the characters, excellent character development, and take you in directions you never thought possible. One thematic similarity in all her works is repeated often: when given a second chance, allow your heart to rule your head and find your true path with a chance at true love along the way.

Travelling by Post is a longtime faveorite of mine. In this story, a disgruntled Fitwillam Darcy is forced to travel by post in order to get to London in time for a business meeting of the utmost importance. Unbeknownst to him, Elizabeth will be his traveling companion and they both will get another chance to right past wrongs. What should have been one of the worst days of his life for being reduced to a circumstance so wholly beneath him turns out to be the beginning of a long trip into love everlasting.

An Unspoken Understanding, is similar thematically, but deals with the impending threat of scandal due to Lydia’s elopement with Wickham and Darcy’s decision to take a leap of faith and show his love for Elizabeth by saving her family.

Secrets Kept, in comparison to her other writings, deals more with Darcy as a rescuer to Elizabeth in the most trying of circumstances. He demonstrates more than faith, love and loyalty in this wonderful story, while proving once again that second chances are often a way to total bliss.

Lost in the Deep is perhaps my favorite of the bunch and deals with Georgianna’s struggles to find the love she deserves in spite of her wealth and connections and Fitzwillam’s struggle to allow her to choose her own path. Of the four fanfics, all of which are wonderful, funny and heart warming reads, this is my favorite of Gabby A.’s works.

Hopefully Gaby A. will continue to write and share with us the further adventures of Darcy and Elizabeth in the future. Her writing is so well done that  publishing her work would not be out of the realm of possibility….we hope!

An Unspoken Understanding, by Gaby A.

As Elizabeth and the Gardiners return to Longbourn from the Lambton Inn to try and avert the disgrace of their family over Lydia’s elopement, Darcy arrives to find her gone.

On their rapid journey to Longbourn, Elizabeth hopes that the letter she left at the inn finds her way into Darcy’s hands and he can help to avoid the ruin of their family. There is, after all, an unspoken understanding between them…or, so she hopes.

You can also read the rest of Gaby A.’s Pride and Prejudice fan fiction sequels, all are well worth your time: Lost in the Deep, Secrets Kept, and Travelling by Post. If you have enjoyed her other stories, An Unspoken Understanding is a must read.

Lost in the Deep, by Gaby A.

Set several years after the marriage of Fitzwillam Darcy and Elizabeth Bennet, Georgianna Darcy is now a young woman out in society. Although she has enjoyed several seasons, she has yet to find her true love, that is, until she joins brother on an unusual trip to the docks.

The Darcy’s venture to the other side of London to supervise the unloading of their ship, the Regalia, and William notices an attraction between his sister and a young sailor. Will pride, prejudice and socal mores once angain hinder young love?

As with Gaby A.’s other fanfiction stories, Lost in the Deep is excteptionally well written and as throuroghly enjoyable as her other P & P fan fics: An Unspoken Understanding, Secrets Kept, and Travelling by Post. If you have enjoyed her other stories, you will absolutely love Lost in the Deep as well.

Secrets Kept, by Gaby A.

Upon Lydia disgracing the Bennet family, Elizabeth takes the position of a London governess, although she has never forgotten the man she has come to love in Mr. Darcy. Upon being attacked and fleeing from her employer, Elizabeth finds herself with a chance to regain his love when she finds herself under the protection of Mr. Darcy as her wounds and spirits heal. She does hold him to a promise though, to protect others as well, and requires him to vow to honor the secrets she needs to be certain are kept.

Thematically similar to another of Gabby A.’s fan fiction pieces, Traveling by Post, Secrets Kept is the story of finding one’s true path when fate leads you back to the one you love. If you enjoyed  these two sequels to Pride and Prejudice, you may also enjoy An Unspoken Understanding, and Lost in the Deep, both are equally as good.

Travelling By Post, by Gaby A.

Elizabeth finds herself in need of a quick trip to London in order to assist her Aunt and Uncle Gardiner while they recover from illness. Set  six months after the Hunsford proposal, Elizabeth’s opinion has been greatly changed by Mr. Darcy’s letter and her subsiquent tour of Pemberley. Much to both Elizabeth and Darcy’s surprise, they end up sharing a post coach to London quite by chance and have a second chance at happiness. Travelling by Post is a longtime favorite of mine, that shows what can happen if fate takes a hand and we take the chance our heart desires.

Gaby A.’s other JA fan fiction stories are equally as statisfying to read: Lost in the Deep, An Unspoken Understanding, and Secrets Kept are not to be missed.
